Building with AI without losing the craft
How I use AI in product and engineering — and where I refuse to outsource judgment.
AI speeds the middle of the work: drafts, refactors, test sketches, content variants, design options. It does not choose the problem, and it does not own the outcome with the client.
I use AI-assisted development and product design daily — prompts, automation, and content workflows — the same way I use TypeScript and Postgres: as leverage, not as a substitute for taste.
What I do not outsource: naming the user, saying no to a feature, reading whether a metric is real (~100% sales growth, 34k audience, 35 people coordinated) or vanity, and standing behind a live URL.
The clinics, CheckOn, Panah, and Hamdel shipped because someone stayed responsible after the model finished typing. That someone is still me.
Use the tool. Keep the decision. Ship something people can open.
